Electrolux top load washing machines
As a precautionary measure, Electrolux Home Products Pty Ltd is issuing a voluntary recall on certain models of Electrolux top load washing machines.
What is the fault?
If water and detergent are inadvertently spilt over the lid of these machines, it may penetrate the lid-locking switch device (see Fig. 1) and conduct a very low electric current to the lid and its surrounds.
What will happen?
You may experience a mild electric shock when you touch the top of the machine.
Can I still use my machine?
The machine can continue to be used safely, but to avoid any hazard, switch it OFF at the control panel (see fig.2) when not in use or when cleaning it, and while loading and unloading your washing.
What should I do?
To find out if your model is affected please enter the model and serial number into the relevant box below and click the SUBMIT button. Your model number can be found on the back of the machine towards the top and features both letters and numbers.
Where to find the model and serial number?
What will the service involve?
A service technician will, free of charge, fit an automatic isolating device behind the control panel. The service call will take about 30 minutes.
